This research paper includes a brief introduction to water quality of areas of district Kotli Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The aim of present study was to check the physical, chemical and biological contamination in the drinking water of Kotli. Mostly parameters (physico-chemical) were according to WHO level, however total coliform and fecal coliform differ significantly (P; 0.01) from WHO level. It showed environmental burden is majorly generated due to mismanagement, this assessment should throw some light on these causes of contamination and help and prevent the living population from diseases generated by water.
