Using majorly secondary sources; the book critiques earlier approached to development in general and community development in particular. A Community- Based Model is suggested with the objectives of: fostering community participation, organizational development, concrete benefits, social learning and strenthening of a sense of community. The process of organizing is suggested and it includes:pre-entry, contact/entry, community analysis, popular action and evaluation. Such a process will foster participation in projects, which can lead to community empowerment in all aspects community life. a change in training of community workers, including political and social ideals is recommended.
