Same treatment induced a significant increase in the head dip counts and head dip duration which was similar to standard dose without affecting locomotion (no. of squares crossed). The aim of the current study was to screen the anxiolytic effect of 6- Shogaol in experimental models of anxiety in mice. The major active ingredients of ginger (6-Shogaol) contribute to their multiple medicinal properties. The present study demonstrated for the first time that 6- Shogaol has an anxiolytic effect.
