Scientists are increasingly faced with an urgent need to search for novel therapeutic agents from medicinal plants and endophytes, which are known to be natural sources of safe and potent drugs. This monograph presents a detailed account of the processes of isolation, structural elucidation and evaluation of the antidiabetic compounds from Combretum dolichopetalum, a plant used in traditional medicine for diabetes management. The endophytic fungus from the plant, Nigrospora oryzae, also afforded some antidiabetic compounds.
