This open access book is China's first new-energy vehicle (NEV) research report based on static indicators and dynamic big data from local electric vehicles. By the end of 2024, China's National Monitoring and Management Platform for NEVs has accumulated access to over 18 million electric vehicles that run dynamically on the national platform and are monitored in real-time. Using the real-time big data collected by the platform, this book delves into the main annual technological progress of NEVs and the vehicle operating characteristics and anticipates the NEV industry trend. Data elements' vital role in promoting the automotive industry's sustainable development is emphasized. With the continuous accumulation of data and technological progress, data elements have become one of the core driving forces for developing the new energy vehicle industry. Through the processing and organization of data elements from the vehicle usage end, the report presents to the public research content on the promotion and application of new energy vehicles in different scenarios, technological progress, vehicle operation and charging, and typical urban applications, as well as other industry hot topics in the form of "annual routine research+hot content." The target readers include government officials, researchers from institutions, and technology workers from vehicle and component enterprises. This book provides an essential reference basis for government decision-making, automotive enterprise strategic decision-making, and scientific research work.

Autor

Wang Zhenpo, is currently a professor in Beijing Institute of Technology. Professor Wang has long been engaged in theoretical research and key technical breakthrough related to new energy vehicles. Focusing on the safe, efficient and reliable application of NEVs, he has made significant contributions in operation control, charging prevention and control, distributed drive cooperative control, etc. In 2018, he was selected for the National High-level Leading Talent Program. Over the past five years, he had presided over five key projects of the National Natural Foundation of China and the National Key R&D Program, etc. He published more than 50 SCI papers as the first author and corresponding author (11 ESI highly cited papers, one paper in Nature Energy, and one paper in PNAS), with more than 10,000 cumulative citations, and he was selected as one of the "Clarivate" highly cited scientists in 2023 and 2024. "He has been selected as a Clarivate Highly Cited Scientist in 2023. He has published 11 monographs (translations) as the first author, and has granted over 50 patents as the first inventor. He has been awarded the second prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress and four first prizes of provincial and ministerial level scientific research. He has led the selection of the Ministry of Education's Curriculum Civics Teaching Masters and Teaching Teams, and has won the second prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award and the first prize of the Beijing Municipal Teaching Achievement Award.
