These include offshoots such as the mathematics of fly fishing and near-death experiences that can serve as lessons for anyone venturing into large, unknown waters. As I have often claimed, this pursuit leads often to deeper transcendent experiences that link us more closely to Nature-not only the nature of life on Earth but also the nature of the cosmos. For me, the absorbing and fulfilling pursuit of fly fishing can become one of these pathways.
