The psalms include caesura and flex markings so they can be sung with Gregorian or Sarum plainchant psalm tones. 28 hymns and canticles in Old English are included. Five different morning prayer programs from Anglo-Saxon England are given in Old English. The Office of the Cross from the Portiforium of Saint Wulfstan, confessions, short prayers written by historical Anglo-Saxons, protection prayers and prayers for prayer ropes and beads are given along with detailed explanations and notes for all the prayers and texts included. Different options for traditional psalmodies, and the seasons and hours of the surviving body of Old English hymns are included in the appendices for those who wish to vary the Old English prayers of the Hours through the year using Old English texts from other books.
