The political map of the Balkan Peninsula changed repeatedly in the 20th and early 21st centuries. States were created and dissolved, and new ones emerged. During all this time, two issues - the Albanian and Macedonian - played a key role. The author traces the historical roots of both issues, analyzes the characteristic features of socialist construction and transition to market relations in Albania and Northern Macedonia, emphasizing the project-constructive nature of these states, created by supranational management in the process of globalization, understood here in the broadest sense. In addition to the consideration of general political processes, a separate attention is devoted to the most important trends and problems of economic development. For both countries, econometric analysis was mainly based on the endogenous Caldorov-type growth model with a built-in mechanism of technological progress, which takes into account both physical and human capital and time as an eventspace of creative economic activity.
