This study uses the PCR-SSP technique to assess the allelic and genotypic distribution of the AKAP lbc gene, coding for HA-3 antigens, in the Tunisian population. The predominant allele, HA-3C, represents 90% of the frequency for this antigen. The most frequent genotype is homozygous HA-3C/HA-3C (80%), followed by heterozygous HA-3T/HA-3_C (20%).These fundamental results will serve as a database for future studies examining the association between the occurrence of GVHD and HA-3 minor histocompatibility antigens in Tunisian hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients.
