Autor

Mark Alexander is Emeritus Professor of Civil Engineering and a Senior Research Scholar in the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He has a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. His research interests are in concrete durability, service life prediction, concrete sustainability, and repair and rehabilitation of deteriorated concrete structures. He is a registered Professional Engineer in South Africa. He has published extensively in South Africa and abroad, and acts as a specialist consultant to industry and the profession on concrete materials. Sidney Mindess is Emeritus Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He holds a PhD degree from Stanford University. His research interests are primarily in cement and concrete technology, with a particular interest in fibre reinforced concrete and the behaviour of concrete under impact loading. He has published extensively, and is engaged in consulting on concrete construction problems. Mike Otieno is a Senior Lecturer in Reinforced Concrete Structures at the University of Hertfordshire, UK. His teaching and research cover analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures and construction materials, especially durability, and repair and rehabilitation of concrete structures.
