This book presents selected papers from the 20th International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing, in conjunction with the 19th ISME 2024, held on October 4-6, 2024, in Matsue, Japan. It is divided into two volumes and discusses latest research outcomes in the field of information technology (IT) including but not limited to information hiding, multimedia signal processing, big data, data mining, bioinformatics, database, industrial and internet of things, and their applications.
Junzo Watada received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Osaka City University, Osaka (now Osaka Metropolitan University), Japan, and obtained his Ph.D. from Osaka Prefecture University (now Osaka Metropolitan University), Sakai, Japan. Until March 2016, he served as a Professor of management engineering, knowledge engineering, and soft computing at the Graduate School of Information, Production, and Systems, Faculty of Engineering and Sciences, Waseda University, Kitakyushu, Japan. Currently, he holds the position of specially appointed professor at the School of Data Sciences, Shimonoseki City University, Yamaguchi, Japan. Dr. Watada has been granted the title of Professor Emeritus at Waseda University since his retirement in 2016. His research interests encompass big data analytics, soft computing, tracking systems, knowledge engineering, and management engineering. Professor Watada is a Life Senior Member of the IEEE. He is also a Life Fellow of both the Japan Society for Fuzzy Theory and Intelligent Informatics and the Bio-Medical Fuzzy System Association. In recognition of his contributions, he received the Henri Coanda Medal Award from Inventico, Romania, in 2002 and the GH Asachi Medal from Universitatea Tehnica GH Asachi, IASI, Romania, in 2006. Roumiana Kountcheva got her PhD at TU-Sofia, and became senior researcher in 1993. She is the Vice president of TK Engineering, Sofia and participates in R&D scientific projects of the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria. Her scientific interests are in image processing, image compression, digital watermarking, image tensor representation, CNCs, programmable controllers. She has more than 220 scientific publications and 5 patents and participated in 49 scientific research projects. R. Kountcheva is a member of Bulgarian Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR); International Research Institute for Economics and Management (IRIEM); Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IDSAI); Honorary Member of the Honorable Editorial Board of the nonprofit peer reviewed open access IJBST Journal Group, etc. Dr. Kountcheva is a reviewer of WSEAS, NAUN, etc. She presented her research achievements in 24 plenary speeches at international conferences and other scientific events and edited several books published in Springer SIST series. Guest editor of SIs of MDPI journals. Chin-Shiuh Shieh received the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 1991, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from National Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan, in 2009. In August 1991, he joined the faculty of the Department of Electronic Engineering at the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, where he currently serves as a full professor. His research interests include computer networking, embedded systems, computational intelligence, and information security. Shu-Chuan Chu received a Ph.D. degree in 2004 from the School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics, Flinders University of South Australia. She joined Flinders University in December 2009 after 9 years at the Cheng Shiu University, Taiwan. She has been a Research Fellow and Associate Professor in the College of Science and Engineering of Flinders University, Australia since December 2009. Currently, she is a Research Fellow with a Ph.D. advisor in the College of Computer Science and Engineering of Shandong University of Science and Technology from September 2019. She also serves as an editorial board member for Engineering Applications of Arti¿cial Intelligence (EAAI), Journal of Internet Technology (JIT) and Research Reports on Computer Science (RRCS). Her research interests are mainly in Evolutionary Computation, Intelligent Computing, Information Hiding and Wireless Sensor Networks. Prof. Shih-Pang Tseng received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan; and the Ph.D.degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He has been a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Tajen University, Pingtung, Taiwan. Now, he is the professor in the School of Software and Big Data, Changzhou College of Information Technology, Changzhou, China; and the School of Information Science and Technology, Sanda University, Shanghai, China. He also works as the Expert Advisor of Robotex Committee, China. He has published 12 SCI papers, 48 EI papers and one academic book. And He has 6 patents. He has won the gold prize in the Seoul International Invention Fair and the bronze medals in the International Invention Fair in the Middle East. He has been the main organizer of the following academic conferences: ICWL2013, NCS2015, NCWIA2017, ICGEC2018 and ICOT2018-2022. He has been the chief executive of the AI Robot and Orange Application Alliance in Taiwan and worked for the collaboration of the industries and universities. His current research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Learning Technology, Natural Language Processing, Internet of Things and Robotics.
