Dr. Vijay Kumar Saraswat is currently honorable member of NITI Ayog, Government of India. Dr. Saraswat completed his B. E. from Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior; M.E. from IISc Bangalore, and Ph.D. from Osmania University. His areas of research are missie systems, ballistic missile defense system, energy security, aerospace manufacturing, technical textiles, body armor for defense, and supercomputing systems. Dr. Saraswat has had an illustrious career and is credited with the indigenous development of missiles, such as Prithvi, Dhanush, Prahaar, and Agni-5; the two-tiered ballistic missile defence system; the initial operational clearance of light combat aircraft Tejas; and nuclear submarine INS Arihant. He served at many prestigious positions, like Secretary DRDO, Homi Bhabha Chair Professor and Consultant to IOCL R&D, Chairman of NTPC R&D Advisory Council, Chairman of the Committee for Development of Indian Microprocessors, and Chairman of a committee for framing a ‘Roadmap for Make in India in Body Armour’. He is the recipient of many awards, including the Padma Shri (1998) and Padma Bhushan (2013). He has been conferred an honorary doctorate by more than 25 universities, most recently in 2018 by Jamia Hamdard. Dr Pradip Kumar Pandey is an engineering professional with over 35+ years of technical leadership experience with multi-national companies in India and abroad. He also holds more than 20 technical papers in his credit in national and international journals and conferences. Currently he is working as Secretary of the Combustion Institute Indian Section (CIIS) IIT Madras and also strategic advisor to Belcan, a Cincinnati USA-based multi-national company. He is also serving as mentor for start-up India in association with Altair India and advisory board members for many technical institutes in India. Dr Pandey holds Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from BIT (Ranchi University), Master of Technology in mechanical engineering (specialised in combustion and propulsion) from IIT Madras, Fellowship in gas turbine from Defence Institute of Advance Technology, Pune, executive MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata and numerous technical, management and leadership sponsored trainings in India and USA. He has been recipient of National talent Scholarship throughout his career. He has been industry speaker at various forums at NASSCOM, CII, Petrofed, Asia Pacific Conference on Combustion, IITs, NITs and several other places. He received leadership award from the chairman of Raytheon Technologies for Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Gold by first person outside USA. Dr. Srikrishna Sahu is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras. He obtained his B.E.in Mechanical Engineering from Orissa Engineering College, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Orissa. He obtained his M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London, London, UK. His areas of research are droplet and spray dynamics: droplet clustering in sprays, spray evaporation and combustion, droplet collision, particle - turbulence interaction, spray-wall interaction. Liquid atomization in various injectors, primary and secondary break up of liquid jet/sheets. Optical techniques: instrumentation, image processing, application to sprays and particle-laden flows, particle Image velocimetry (PIV), laser induced fluorescence (LIF), and interferometric laser imaging for droplet sizing (ILIDS). He has 8 projects (running +completed). He has 45 journal publications, 5 book chapters, and 62 conference papers. He has received Best Teacher Award for Excellence in Teaching in mechanical engineering for the year 2022, Katopodis Prize for the best thermofluids PhD thesis, Department of Mechanical Engineering Imperial College London, 2012, the prestigious 8th Osborne Reynolds Research Student Award, 2010, Silver Medal in the prestigious 5th ERCOFTAC Da Vinci Award, 2010, and Outstanding International Students fellowship from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Imperial College London in 2006. Dr. Jeevan Vachan Tirkey is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT BHU Varanasi. He graduated in mechanical engineering from Government Engineering College (GGU) Bilaspur in 1998. He did his Ph.D. at Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi (Formerly IT-BHU) in 2008 under the supervision of Prof. H. N. Gupta, in the research area of internal-combustion engine. His broad areas of research are renewable energy: waste to energy through gasification; hydrogen production through gasification; life cycle assessment (LCA); internal combustion engine (SI and CI): experiment and simulation; alternate fuel for an engine, and Miller cycle based-over expanded engine. Dr. Tirkey has published more than 75 articles in peer-reviewed international & national journal and conference papers. Dr. Tirkey has guided more than 30 UG projects and 35 master’s theses. He has 2 patents in his research area. In his supervision, 4 Ph.D. scholars have completed their thesis and 2 are working now. He has developed an IC Engine Lab and has developed courses related to alternate fuel for transportation and energy management. Dr. Tirkey is also Technical Chairman of Vehicle condemnation Cell (BHU). He is a lifetime member of the Institution of Engineers, India. He was the member of Energy Management Sectional Committee, MED-39, Bureau of Indian Standard (New Delhi), and Member of Executive Council, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya RGPV, Bhopal (MP). Recently, he has obtained DST project of 40 Lacs on Gasifier-IC Engine. He has also worked as a consultant to many industries for industrial problems. He is working on the project of the center for energy resource and development (CERD) and CST-UP incubation center for grass root innovators. He is the mentor and Co-PI of the development of Battery-operated geared e-Bike, high-speed cycle, and Garbage collection Rickshaw, under the CST-UP Project. He has very extensive administrative experience at the Institute level and at the national level. Dr. Gopal Ji is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Graphic Era deemed to be university, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. He obtained his B.Tech. in mechanical engineering from Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology (a state government technical university) in 2009. He obtained his M.Tech. and Ph.D. in materials science and technology from IIT BHU Varanasi. After Ph.D., he did his post-doctoral research from Vrije University of Brussels, Belgium (a Flemish government institute) on a project of Bakaert Steel company. He also competed short-term projects of ACOTECH Belgium (microbial corrosion) and PROVIRON Netherlands (deicing chemicals). He supervised 21 M.Tech. students and guiding 4 Ph.D. students. His area of research is corrosion prevention of metals in different environments. He also works in Tribology and surface engineering. He has published 67 papers (38 journal and rest conference, SCOPUS/SCI Indexed) and 1 patent. He received best poster award from Kyushu Institute of Technology (KIT) Japan in 2011. He received prestigious JASSO-SS scholarship from Japan for research work during his Ph.D. (2011). He also worked as Deputy Coordinator of mechatronics program and deputy dean student welfare at Center for Advanced Studies, Dr. APJAKTU Lucknow.
