"Absent . . ." opens three years after "The Wedding Party" ends with an unanswered question and reveals some disturbing news about the bride. The characters in "Absent . . ." deal with past loves, past hurts, interracial relationships, death, infidelity, illness, and sibling rivalry, and then the story comes to a suspenseful end. Some new characters are introduced, but their lives are entangled in the lives of the characters you already know.

Cheryl J. McCullough lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is the mother of two adult sons. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a master's degree in Organizational Leadership and spent over a decade in higher education administration. She is now a consultant and entrepreneur. Cheryl is an avid reader and a huge sports fan; football, basketball and tennis are her favorites. She is a licensed and ordained Minister at Life Center International in Charlotte and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
