"Abgestempelt" (German for 'Labeled') explores the possibility that discriminations towards people with disabilities may have originated in ancient religious norms that largely dictated societal conventions. As a starting point, this book examines the relationship between religion and people with disabilities in the Hebrew Bible and contemporary Ancient Near Eastern literature, such as Ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamian texts.

Autor

Thomas Hentrich (MTh Bonn; PhD Biblical Studies, Montréal; JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow, Kyoto) works for the Canadian Council of Churches in Toronto and has many years of experience working with children and adults with brain-injuries.
