About the Author Tara Henderson is a public elementary school principal in Tulsa, OK. She has been in public education for nearly three decades. This is her first children's book. This story is a work of fiction; however, the Tulsa Race Massacre is a historical event that has impacted the lives of Blacks in Tulsa for many generations. Henderson currently resides in Oklahoma with her husband, Patrick, and has two children, Patrick II & Kiesha.
