It was an exotic life, but they managed to keep the family grounded and made sure to re-immerse themselves in Americana after their oldest daughter left to attend college in the United States. She was terribly distressed when new friends would phone out for pizza or select a movie from the many available at just one theater (these were not typical activities on a military installation at the time). Ultimately, their idyllic life slowly began to fray and unwind in the grips of a terrible disease. That, sadly, had also not been predicted. Ross Calvert survived the pandemic years by digging into the genealogy of the family and then, turned to writing.
