During the breeding season, construction was halted (Oct 1 to May 15, 2006) to protect their nesting. The Bald Eagle, shielded by the 1940 Eagle Protection Act, was once THREATENED in the lower forty-eight states. Thanks to the Department of Natural Resources and concerned citizens, this bald eagle pair now thrives, symbolizing our nation's enduring spirit.
