Published in 1792, this is the first book in a three-volume work that recounts the author's adventures along the Labrador coast, vividly portraying the land and the culture of the indigenous peoples. It covers Cartwright's first two expeditions (1770-3), and opens with a short autobiography. Each volume also includes a glossary of unusual terms.
