Edward met Helen when she asked for his help to stop George's attempt to force his way back into her house and her life. Although neither of them was looking for romance, they developed a strong friendship and slowly regained the ability to trust again. As close as they were, each was afraid to admit to their innermost dreams of love, lest the other didn't share their feelings.
