The next day, the couple are on their way to spend the weekend at their lake house to celebrate Sonia's promotion when tragedy strikes. After an SUV strikes them and drives away, Richard awakens in the hospital almost a month later to discover his wife disappeared from the scene of the accident and nobody has seen her since. When the detectives on the case learn Sonia's boss, Stan, went missing within a day of her, they struggle to determine whether the two ran away together or suffered the same perilous fate. While investigating the possibility that Richard had a hand in their disappearance prior to his accident, they find gaps in his past, elevating their suspicions. Pushing through his recovery, Richard looks into Sonia's company to determine what she and her boss may have uncovered that put a target on their backs.
