Ty Fly is a transbug. Although he was born a girl, from as far back as he could remember, Ty felt like a boy. He flies unexpectedly into a car on his way home from flyball practice and gets driven to New York City from Boston. He must get home for his big game in 2 days. Ty's teammates don't want him on the team because he's different. He must find the courage and bravery to overcome his challenges inside and out along his journey. Ty uses different modes of transportation, finds help from other bugs and avoids danger at every turn. Will he get back in time for the big game? Will his teammates finally accept him?

Autor

Doreen Cummings is a debut author with the mission of adding more LGBTQ+ books, stories and characters to children's literature. Doreen is a native of Boston, and a graduate of Wheaton College, MA. As a lifelong creator, performer, singer and storyteller, writing this LGBTQ+ children's book series was the perfect opportunity for Doreen to bring the story that has been in their hearts for years, to life. Growing up in the 70's and 80's, kids did not have books that represented characters experiencing a spectrum of gender identity. A Bug Travels Far adds a 4 book adventure series to libraries and schools across the world, through the A Bug Travels Far Book Donation Program. When not working passionately to create equitable and innovative housing opportunities for people with disabilities, Doreen enjoys raising their family, spending time at the ocean, collecting art, coaching baseball and travelling the world. Hugoshi is a digital creator, illustrator and animator from Madrid, Spain. He has 17 years of experience as an artist, and has a true zest for creativity. His brilliant illustrations make this story come to life.
