64290 Yaushingtung (provisional designation: 2001 UD11) is a main-belt minor planet. It was discovered by William Kwong Yu Yeung at the Desert Eagle Observatory near Benson, Arizona, on October 22, 2001. It is named for Shing-Tung Yau, a Chinese-American mathematician. Asteroids (from Greek 'star' and 'like, in form') are a class of small Solar System bodies in orbit around the Sun. They have also been called planetoids, especially the larger ones.
