Francesco Geminiani was a pupil of Lonati, Corelli and A. Scarlatti. Im Jahr 1714 ging er nach England, wo er bald zu einem führenden Violinisten und hochgeschätzten Komponisten wurde und viele Schüler, vor allem aus den Reihen des Adels, unterrichtete.
