In 2004, I was diagnosed with cancer. Confused and scared were my first reactions. But I never questioned, Why me? Why not me? I went through chemo and two stem cell transplants. By the grace of God, I am healed today. This whole experience was a humbling time for me. It was during my healing time that I experienced my true reflection moment. Realizing some of my choices in life hindered my growth. Self-evaluation through inner reflections allowed me to focus on priorities and the truth. I look in the mirror today, and not only has my outside reflection changed, but my inner reflection is also always evolving. I feel strengthened and renewed. Life is a daily changing experience. All my choices are still not perfect, because I am not. But I own them. As a believer, God always provides enough grace and mercy to meet me right where I am.
