Ben Hammer is a Los Angeles-based audio mixer and sound supervisor whose credits include multiple Emmy-winning and nominated television productions. He's also an award-winning composer and musician. Earlier in his career, when work was scarce, Ben did a stint as a bartender-starting out as a newcomer, he worked his way up to lead bartender in L.A. venues and mentored new hires along the way. One of his signature cocktails even earned a spot in Gaz Regan's 101 Best New Cocktails series-a milestone that still fuels his passion for mixology. Alongside his audio and music career, Ben's longstanding curiosity about cocktail history led him to tackle Jerry Thomas's 1862 landmark guide. Frustrated by poor scans, archaic measures, and hard-to-find originals, he transcribed every recipe and adapted them into clear, modern terms.
