The YVCC student population includes dual-enrollment high school students (Running Start), high school graduates, those in mid-career seeking job training or continuing education, as well as people learning English and other basic literacy skills. College programs of study include university transfer in the arts and sciences and degrees in the health sciences and other vocational fields. The college also offers customized training for business and industry. YVCC has been designated by the U.S. Department of Education as a Hispanic-Serving Institution and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The college''s athletic teams are called the Yaks. Sports include men''s baseball, and women''s basketball, softball, soccer, and volleyball. YVCC is one of only a few colleges to offer both men''s and women''s wrestling.
