Hortense Ullrich ist im Saarland geboren, in Bad Homburg aufgewachsen, hat in Wiesbaden Design studiert und anschließend in einer Werbe- und PR-Agentur in Frankfurt gearbeitet. Als Redakteurin, Ressortleiterin und Chefredakteurin war sie bei verschiedenen Fachzeitschriften tätig, bis sie sich eines Tages entschloss, Drehbücher zu schreiben. Mit Erfolg. Acht Jahre verbrachte sie mit Mann und Kindern in New York. Heute lebt Hortense Ullrich mit ihrer Familie in Bremen. Und wenn sie nicht von ihren beiden Töchtern, deren Goldfischen oder deren Hunden in Beschlag genommen wird, schreibt sie Drehbücher für Comedies für RTL, Sketche für den Kinderkanal und Kinderserien fürs ZDF.
