Wer die ersten 100 Seiten durchsteht, erlebt ab hier einen unterdurchschnittlichen Krimi.
Bis der Mord endlich entdeckt wird, stimmt an der Geschichte gar nichts! Charaktere und Geschichte sind blasser als blaß. Dabei ist alles da. Szenen und Leute werden eingehend aus Sicht der

Bis der Mord endlich entdeckt wird, stimmt an der Geschichte gar nichts! Charaktere und Geschichte sind blasser als blaß. Dabei ist alles da. Szenen und Leute werden eingehend aus Sicht der Hauptdarstellerin, Alice, beschrieben. Es wollen bei mir aber keine Bilder oder Eindrücke entstehen. Alles wirkt unbeholfen, gekünzelt und vor allem: falsch. Alle beschriebenen Männer kriegen bei mir keine Kontur. Die Frauen werden besser gezeichnet, das wirkt jedoch nur noch mehr gekünzelt. Es wird eine Welt beschrieben, die es nicht gibt und erfunden ist. Das spürt man in jedem Satz. Passend dazu wirkt das Ende völlig an den Haaren herbeigezogen, als ob die Autorin die Aufklärung künstlich aufhalten wollte und erst gegen Ende des Buches, halt leider völlig einfalls- und konturenlos, ein Ende schrieb - weil es so sein mußte.
Als der Mord nun endlich entdeckt wird, habe ich nur noch deshalb weitergelesen, da ich die Aufklärung erfahren wollte. Ab hier wird interessanterweise auch alles flüssiger. Der Streß, den Alice auf der Suche nach Mörder und Kind erlebt, wirkt einigermaßen authentisch. Die Worte, mit denen die Geschichte, hauptsächlich aus der Sicht Alices, erzählt, geschildert wird, wirkt weniger gekünzelt und wohltuend funktional. Plötzlich entstehen auch Bilder im Kopf.
Alles in allem habe ich die ersten 100 Seiten nur deshalb durchgehalten, da ich gerade Zeit hatte und, aus welchen Gründen auch immer, dem Buch noch eine Chance geben wollte. Dies scheint eine Geschichte für Frauen zu sein. Männer werden völlig ohne Kontrast und Charakter dargestellt. Eine besondere Betrachtung finden lediglich die Frauen. Kann ja alles meinetwegen sein - es wirkt aber alles so fürchterlich gestelzt, holperig und unrealistisch. Mein Eindruck ist, hier hat sich die Autorin eine Welt zusammengestrickt, die sie gern hätte, die es aber nicht gibt - hauptsächlich durch bei mir seltsam empfundene Beschreibungen der Männer, bei denen ich manchmal das Gefühl habe, hier wird auch durch Auslassungen unbeholfen "verzerrt". Auch wenn es ab Seite 100 überraschend besser wird, macht das den ersten miesen Gesamteindruck um Längen nicht wett.
