Von den wenigen antiken Zeugnissen zum Vulgärlateinischen findet sich wiederum nur eine geringe Zahl auf originalen Schriftträgern. Einige davon werden in dem vorliegenden Band vorgestellt, jeweils zusammen mit Bibliographie, Edition, Übersetzung, Nachzeichnung des Schriftbestandes sowie einem ausführlichen sprachlichen Kommentar. Die Sammlung enthält vier Nummern mit Briefen (ChLA 43, 1241c; Tab. Vindol. 2, 310; P. Mich. 8, 471; O.
