Ulrich Renz je roden 1960. godine u stutgartu (Nemacka). Studirao je francusku knjizevnost u Parizu i medicinu u Libeku, nakon cega je radio kao direktor naucne izdavacke kuc¿e. Barbara Brinkmann rodena je 1969. godine u Minhenu i odrasla je u podnozju bavarskog alpskog predgorja. Studirala je arhitekturu u Minhenu i trenutno radi kao naucni saradnik na Arhitektonskom fakultetu Tehnickog univerziteta u Minhenu. Pored toga, radi i kao samostalna graficarka, ilustratorka i autorka.
