Aim of the Study is to evaluate different methods of modification of titanium surface and to compare the surface roughness levels, surface wettability and surface configuration of variously treated surfaces of Titanium(commercially pure titanium grade I). Aim of the Study is to evaluate different methods of modification of titanium surface and to compare the surface roughness levels, surface wettability and surface configuration of variously treated surfaces of Titanium(commercially pure titanium grade I). The results of fibroblast culture revealed that the material is biocompatible, surface roughness measurements done with the help of surface profilometer and surface analyzer showed that samples blasted with 100 microns alumina and blasting with alumina followed by acid etching with 30% hydrochloric and sulfuric acid had the highest roughness average values (Ra). Contact angle measurement of all the samples revealed that samples treated with 5.0M of sodium hydroxide at 600°C for 1 hour, hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid followed by sodium hydroxide treatment, blasting with biphasic material and hydrofluoric acid treatment showed lowest contact angle and highest surface wettability. Scanning electron microscopic studies concluded that samples blasted with alumina, biphasic material, alumina blasting followed by acid etching revealed uniform rough configuration of the surface.
