Jörn Waltergeb. 1957 in Bremen. 1976 bis 1982 Raumplanungsstudium an der Universität Dortmund.1982 bis 1984 Städtebaureferendariat in Düsseldorf. 1985 bis 1991 Leiter des Stadtplanungsamtes für Stadtentwicklung und Umwelt der Stadt Maintal. 1991 bis 1999 Leiter des Stadtplanungsamtes Dresden. Seit 1999 Oberbaudirektor der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg. 1997 Gastprofessur für städtebauliches Entwerfen an der Technischen Universität Wien. 2001 Professor an der Hochschule für bildende Künste, Hamburg. Mitglied der Deutschen Akademie für Städtebau und Landesplanung, der Akademie der Künste Berlin-Brandenburg und der Sächsischen Akademie der Künste.
