Autorenporträt
Otto Schönberger, geboren 1926, leitete ein Würzburger Gymnasium und beeinflusste als Fachdidaktiker die Lehre des Lateinischen maßgeblich. Er ist bekannt als Übersetzer zahlreicher antiker Werke der Weltliteratur.

Hermann Menge, geboren 1841 in Seesen, gestorben 1939 in Goslar. Philologe, Bibelübersetzer und Gymnasialdirektor. Nach seinem Studium an der Universität Göttingen unterrichtete er an verschiedenen Lehranstalten, bevor er Direktor der Gymnasien in Sangerhausen und Wittstock wurde. Zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen, insbesondere zur griechischen und lateinischen Grammatik.
