Entwerfen von Landschaft ist ganzheitlich. Zugleich verlangt es vertieftes Spezialwissen. In der Lehre und in Studienbüchern kommt entweder die generalistische oder die konkrete Ebene häufig zu kurz, oder aber die Zusammenschau wird zu komplex. "Landschaft für Architekten" bietet nun ein Grundlagenwerk, das ebenso umfassend wie handlich, ebenso ganzheitlich wie detailliert konzipiert ist.
In Zusammenarbeit mit der TU Braunschweig/Department Architecture entstanden, thematisiert Landschaft für Architekten die Aspekte der Landschaftsarchitektur: Es werden "Fragen" mit abstrahierten Schemazeichnungen aufgeworfen und mögliche "Antworten" mit Analysezeichnungen von Case Studies aus dem 20. und 21. Jahrhundert aufgezeigt, um zu eigener kreativer Auseinandersetzung zu inspirieren und den Entwurfsprozess zu unterstützen.
Das gesamte Feld des landschaftsarchitektonischen Entwerfens wird in einzelnen thematischen Bänden behandelt. Sie sind unterschiedlich umfangreich, die fünf Bände umfassen zusammen mehr als 1000 Seiten und erscheinen gebündelt mit klarer farbiger Markierung als der "grüne Block".
Jeder Band ist inhaltlich in sich abgeschlossen und konsequent einzeln verwendbar - kompakt und nutzerfreundlich. Die Darstellung ist einheitlich aufgebaut, mit den Leitgedanken auf der linken und der dazugehörigen Zeichnung auf der rechten Seite. Die Zeichnungen zeigen auf, wie Entwurfskonzepte veranschaulicht werden können, und die Dreisprachigkeit bietet ein internationales Vokabular des Entwerfens.
