The Author: Edward J. Olszewski received his Ph.D. in art history from the University of Minnesota in 1974. He is Professor of Art History at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and is the author of books and catalogues on Renaissance art theory, Italian Renaissance drawings, papal tombs, and Baroque palace decoration, as well as numerous articles on topics of Renaissance and Baroque art.
