On a quiet suburban street in upstate Greenbury, New York, a beaten body is discovered in the woods adjacent to a vacation house. It doesn't take long to identify the murder victim as Brady Neil, a twenty-six-year old, from the neighboring town of Hamilton. Produktbeschreibung
On a quiet suburban street in upstate Greenbury, New York, a beaten body is discovered in the woods adjacent to a vacation house. It doesn't take long to identify the murder victim as Brady Neil, a twenty-six-year old, from the neighboring town of Hamilton. He seems to have lived a relatively crime-free life - working full-time while going to school at community college- but that doesn't mean that Brady wasn't experienced with the dark side of the human condition. His father, Brandon Gratz, sits in prison after being convicted of a double murder that occurred two decades ago. It seemed that Gratz and his partner Kyle Masterson had robbed and killed Glen and Lydia Levine, the owners of a local Hamilton jewelry store. And while the two men had pled guilty to the robbery, they have consistently claimed that when they left the store, both Glen and Lydia had been alive. As Decker digs deeper into Gratz's past, he wonders if the son's murder isn't connected to the father's sins. But hescarcely has time to ponder the link because one of Brady Neil's few friends, Joseph Boch - aka Boxer - goes missing. And when Decker and his temporary partner, Lenora Baccus from Hamilton PD, go to Boch's house, they discover nothing less than a bloodbath. It is not only a horrible scene, the crime is completely baffling. Who would want to do harm to these two ordinary young men. It will require all of Decker's skill and knowledge, lots of help from his fellow Greenbury detectives, Tyler McAdams and Kevin Butterfield, and Rina's behind the scene's investigation to sort out this jigsaw puzzle with ruthless players from the past as well as the present.
