Alexander Sergejewitsch Puschkin, geb. 1799 in Moskau als Spross eines alten Adelsgeschlechts, wurde wegen seiner politischen Lyrik 1820 nach Südrussland strafversetzt und später auf das mütterliche Gut verbannt. Er starb 1837 an den Folgen eines Duells.
