Man kann sich so gut in Emory's Lage versetzen und ihre Perspektive verstehen. Ich mag den Schreibstil und dass die Geschichte zwar um ihren Bruder handelt, aber nie aus seiner Perspektive beschrieben wird. Man erfährt nur über ihn was er auch Emory erzählt. Und das macht die Geschichte um einiges realistischer und schwerer.
Ich liebe das Buch absolut.

Ein wundervoller Jugendroman mit einer tollen Botschaft und wichtigem Thema.
Das Drogenproblem ist längst nicht mehr nur in den USA enorm, sondern auch in Deutschland nicht zu unterschätzen. In dem Roman "You´d be Home Now" von Kathleen Glasgow geht es um Emory, genannt Emmy. Ein junges Mädchen aus gutem Hause mit einem drogenabhängigen Bruder Joey. Ihr großer Bruder ist alles für sie, immer wenn ihre Eltern arbeiten waren und das ist eigentlich permanent der Fall hat sich Joey um sie gekümmert. Die beiden sind sich sehr nah, bis sie es nicht mehr sind, weil Joey den Drogen näher ist als alles andere. Kann sie ihn beschützen? Muss sie das überhaupt? Und es gibt nicht immer nur den oder die drogenabhängige, sondern auch die Familie und Freunde. Das Umfeld, was nicht immer hilfreich, sondern im Gegenteil herausfordern ist.
Ein ganz toller Roman, der eine schwierige Thematik beschreibt und Mut spendet.
Es war mein erster Roman der Autorin und ich fand ihn ausgesprochen gutgeschrieben. Sehr lebensnah und eindrucksvoll ich war gefesselt.
