Autorenporträt
Karen Halttunen is Professor of History at the University of California at Davis. She has received numerous awards, including the Andrew Mellon Distinguished Scholar-in-Residence Fellowship with the American Antiquarian Society and a Senior Fellowship with the National Humanities Center. She is the author of Murder Most Foul: The Killer and the American Gothic Imagination (1998), and Confidence Men and Painted Women: A Study of Middle-Class Culture in America, 1830-1870 (1983) and coeditor (with Lewis Perry) of Moral Problems in American Life: New Perspectives on Cultural History (1999).
