He's 27" Tall and More Intelligent than any Human ... They have a culture thousands of years old and the gift of scientific knowledge far beyond that of modern man. The Woodland Elves live in seclusion in a cleverly hidden, closely guarded, secret location in the Great Redwood Forest of Northern California. They are a benevolent, peace-loving race and have a reverence and respect for all living things. Throughout their history they have perceived humans to be a threat to their race and the planet itself. Two thousand years ago and still, today, the Elders believed humans to be a warring race, consumed with the pursuit of wealth and power. They are certain that, if discovered, and their advanced knowledge stolen by humans, the result would be the total decimation of all living things. Armed with their knowledge and superior intelligence they could declare war on humans and bring us to our knees, but that is not their way. They chose to deal with the human threat with enlightenment rather than violence. When a male elf reaches his 16th birthday he is given a great banquet and then, at midnight, he is presented to the Circle of Elders for the Empowerment Ceremony. The young elf is given tools and gifts of great knowledge to assist and protect him on his quest into the world of humans. He is tasked to (as anonymously as possible) teach us by example the true value of tolerance, loyalty, trust and love. Nelkie embarks to be drawn into a seemingly impossible situation involving a kidnapping, a murder, a crime against nature, a love triangle and an extremely wealthy, evil villain. "A festive romp.... A delightful, surprising look at what happens when two worlds collide. "An American Elf" should grace every fantasy lover's shelf." - Kristi Peterson Schoonover, author of "Bad Apple" and Pushcart Prize nominee
