Autorenporträt
Paving Over the Past began as a senior thesis at Princeton University, concerning the political battle that occurred in 1988 when the Manassas Battlefield was slated to be paved over. (The campaign of 1988 for battlefield preservation became known as "The 3rd Battle of Manassas" ¿ a play on words as "The 2nd Battle of Manassas" occurred in 1862 during the Civil War, and was where General Robert E. Lee's headquarters had been located.) Georgie Boge and Margie Holder Boge were students at Oxford and Princeton when they began this project.
