Dr. Barner has had 25 years of experience in the fields ofleadership and professional development, including severalcorporate executive positions. He currently holds the position ofAssociate Director of Executive Education within the SouthernMethodist University's Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education& Human Development. He is also the owner of Plano ExecutiveAdvisory Services, a management consultancy specializing in theareas of executive coaching and leadership development (www.robert.barner@planoadvisory.com) Dr. Barner is a prolific writer whose writing contributions includesix books on the subjects of career counseling and leadershipdevelopment with translations into German, Norwegian, and Estonian.He has also been a contributor to several university texts, haswritten over 40 articles for academic journals, and has been areviewer for both the Journal of Organizational ChangeManagement and the Journal of ManagementDevelopment. Dr. Barner has presented to several international symposia andconferences, including the American Society for Training andDevelopment, The Society for Human Resource Management, The WorldFuture Society, and the National OD Network. His articles on thesubjects of career planning, executive coaching, executivedevelopment, and team building have appeared in such publicationsas The Wall Street Journal's National BusinessEmployment Weekly, The OD Practitioner, CareerDevelopment International, Team Performance Management,The Journal of Organizational Change Management, HRMagazine, and Training & Development.
