Rezensionen
"This volume is an extremely thorough and scholarly resource inreligious ethics, containing comprehensive essays by fifty-sevenscholars, some of them quite well known." (Religious StudiesReview, June 2010)

"Edited by the superbly qualified Schweiker, this bookcontains 57 short articles by leading scholars of religious ethics... The volume's goal of exhibiting the horizons ofcontemporary work in religious ethics is well achieved ... Itserves also as a useful reference on the most studied traditionsand on theoretical and practical issues. Highly recommended."Choice"One expects The Blackwell Companion to Religious Ethics tobe an inclusive and exhaustive treatment of the subject, but twoother characteristics make this a sterling and indispensable workthat deserves the widest readership. First, articles by a widerange of outstanding and well-known scholars give the book animpressive depth. Second, William Schweiker, as editor, hasprovided a unifying focus for studying this vast and complexfield." Charles E. Curran, Southern MethodistUniversity

"Starting from its problematic title, this splendid collectionof essays by 70 authors ... offers far more than textbooks orencyclopedias. Teachers working at A level and beyond will findhere the richest of resources; thoughtful sixth-formers willdiscover something of the disciplined excitement that can accompanygenuine learning in an interdisciplinary and multi-traditioncontext; those learning and teaching in higher education will valuethis innovative, orderly, often provocative collection of essays."British Journal of Religious Education

"The Blackwell Companion to Religious Ethics presents anexciting vision of moral inquiry engaged with the fantasticresources of the world's religions, open to other fields ofreflection on the human adventure, and dedicated to understandingand addressing moral challenges and possibilities emergent in ourglobal times."
