My goal is to help parents and caregivers understand how important it is to honor and support our kids' efforts to try new things-even if they fail! Life is not meant to be a neat and tidy experience-it is to be explored and used, trialed and triumphed. Too often, children and adults alike don't try new things, even things that interest them, because they are afraid they won't be good enough. Let's start encouraging our children, and ourselves, to step out of our comfort zones and seek new adventures. It is time that we applaud our failures for what they really are-symbols of the courage to try. With a little patience and persistence, who knows what adventures lie ahead? Your friend and fellow parent, Heather Hamilton
Autorenporträt
Heather Hamilton has been a student of metaphysics ever since a friend gifted her with a cassette tape by Dr. Wayne Dyer many years ago. This unexpected gift began to change her life's path dramatically and led Heather to dream bigger than she had ever dreamed before. After becoming a mother, it became Heather's mission to find ways to teach her children about the dynamic power that is inherent inside each of us. Whenever she wondered how best to pass this wisdom on to her children, her thoughts would form poetry, with the words and rhymes flowing with effortless ease. Instinctively she realized that these poems should become picture books , teaching not only her children, but children around the world the truth of who they really are. Not knowing exactly where to start, she committed herself to taking any steps necessary to make this dream a reality. This journey led Heather to a serendipitous meeting with Dr. Dyer one beautiful evening on the island of Maui. When she saw him walking by on the beach path, Heather ran over to him and exchanged a hug that began a cherished friendship. Prior to his death in 2015, Dr. Dyer became one of Heather's greatest teachers. She is currently in the process of creating a brilliantly illustrated tribute book titled I Am Light , which is based on a poem she wrote as a gift for Dr. Dyer. She is also planning to publish a book titled We Are All One, which was inspired by another of her great teachers, Neale Donald Walsch. Heather presently lives in Huntington Beach, California, with her three children, Ryley, Kai, and Maya. Together, they love to go on bike rides along the beach, paddle board in the harbor or grab a milkshake at the end of the pier. Frequently throughout the year, Heather and her children can be found in Maui, their cherished home away from home. Though trained as a chiropractor, Heather believes her biggest job is to be a mother, and to continuously remind her children how amazing they are. "Dreams come true," she tells them. "Just watch Mama."
