Students of Engineering colleges require an ever-increasing range of skills to maintain relevance with the global environment of the new millennium. Communication skills are a vital component of this, recognized by academia and industry alike. Indeed, communication skills are considered a salient element in the make-up of the new global engineer. Thus, after a brief look at the profile of the students of engineering, there is felt a need for the study of the appropriate new techniques for improving their communication skills for acquiring better placements. The aim of the present study is to suggest a few communicative techniques that would help the students of engineering master the entire range of skills required for a successful profession.
