Two novel Schiff bases were synthesized by the reaction of aromatic amines and aromatic aldehydes. The synthesized SChiff base (ligand) were reacted with tin(IV) salt forming the corresponding organotin(IV) complexes using analytical grade methanol as solvent. All the compounds were characterized by melting point, elemental analysis, IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR. From the spectral analysis its was confirmed the ligands and their organotin(IV) are successfully synthesized. From the spectral analysis its was confirmed the ligands and their organotin(IV) are successfully synthesized. Both the Schiff bases and its organotin(IV) complexes were screened against various bacteria and fungi in order to establish their bioactivities. The organotin(IV) complexes have efficiently control the growth of microorganisms.
