Produktbeschreibung
The former Province Orientale has a long tradition of mining and abundant mineral resources with visible and measurable monetary effects such as the payment of royalties, taxes and fees to the public treasury. However, there is a lack of regulation and subsidies for companies, which reduces the social initiatives of companies. The study provided a comparative analysis of the situation before and after the Kibali project to highlight the effects of the project. The contribution of Kibali to the socio-economic development of the province and the Watsa territory in particular is visible and is justified by several achievements (job creation, road construction, Nzoro dam, new town with basic infrastructure). The Congolese state must encourage projects that contribute to development by creating a business climate that is likely to attract investment and strengthen the public-private partnership through an incentive mining code. Promote SMEs and SMIs in order to recover lost socio-economic impacts, which are identified abroad due to lack of availability and Congolese expertise.
