This study assessed the factors influencing resource mobilisation capacities among local environmental NGOs in Temeke District in Dar es Salaam Region. Specifically, the study focused on examining the type, status and the strategies of resource mobilisation, the factors influencing the capacity and sustainability of resource mobilisation and the contribution of resource mobilisation to organisational performance. Many local environmental NGOs in Tanzania, including those in Temeke District, are experiencing difficulties in mobilising resources required for them to implement their activities successfully and effectively. The study adopted qualitative research design with non-probability sampling techniques employed to select participants. The study employed in-depth interviews, documentary reviews and focus group discussions to collect both primary and secondary data. Data analysis was through content analysis and interpretation of narratives and stories as presented by the study participants. Findings of this study may contribute to the literature on resource mobilisation along creating much knowledge on resource mobilisation strategies, particularly to local environmental NGOs.
