This book was written as a series of love notes for Black and Brown womxn. While there are many parts of this book that every womxn at some point in her life can relate to, this book was intended to grapple with the day to day experiences that are unique to womxn of color specifically. These notes are meant to provide that inner voice of authenticity, hope, and to serve as a rally cry for you as Black and Brown womxn to never give up no matter what. This book was written for the every day Black and Brown womxn. This book was written for the womxn in leadership, in subsidized housing, that rock dreads or blue hair, that's supposedly too loud, that's never been uplifted, and who secretly or openly struggles with esteem and with enoughness to name a few. This book was written just for you. This book was written for us all whether we've got it together or not. So, if you're interested in being in community with other womxn around the world that are grappling with some of the same types of challenges, this book is for you. Understand that while you might go your entire life never having heard positive feedback or feeling seen, it is not okay and has to be addressed and changed. This book is meant to place the power back where it belongs. In your hands.

Currently, Rikimah serves as Founding Partner of Glymph Consultants, LLC., a consulting firm prioritizing frontline organizations worldwide and Democratic Campaigns nationally. Glymph Consultants, LLC. focuses on business infrastructure development, coaching, mentoring, as well as organizational and individual wellness/well-being development. For most of Rikimah's career, she's focused on changing the hearts and minds of leadership and staff alike, whether that be on staff or as a consultant. Given her deep love for and admiration of Black & Brown womxn, Rikimah has set out on a mission to not just focus on Black & Brown womxn in the traditional sense of wellness & wellbeing, but to also uplift, elevate, and say out loud the things she wishes someone had said to her along the way and that she knows all too well, are needed. Rikimah holds a B.A. in History from the University of California, Los Angeles, an MBA, and a Masters in Project Management. She previously served on the UCLA Black Alumni Association's Board. When Rikimah's not talking to people about wellness and wellbeing or working to change the hearts and minds of leadership within the progressive non profit space, you might catch her presenting at conferences like InsideNGO from time to time, traveling the world with her son, chasing horses at the nearby stable, searching for amazing foods to try, and if you're really watchful, sitting under a tree playing tic tac toe with the neighborhood kids while enjoying the environment and all that it has to offer. As someone that has spent countless years in the progressive movement, Rikimah knows all too well some of the challenges, pitfall, and wins that have been a part of the every day experience for Black and Brown womxn. To that point, this book was written with those things in mind. For those of you interested in some of Rikimah's journey, here are some of the roles and organizations she's worked in/for. Rikimah served as the Chief of People & State Operations for Bernie 2020. Prior to that, Rikimah served as the Global Director of People Operations for Dimagi. With over 14 years of experience building infrastructure and caring for the every day person working to make this world a better place one day at a time, Rikimah has built both, a name and reputation for herself across national and international organizations. Prior to joining Dimagi, Rikimah worked for 350.org serving as their Global Human Resource Director, Equality California as their Chief Administrative Officer, Color Of Change as their Director of Operations & Administration and the New Organizing Institute serving as their Director of Finance & Operations. While her experiences have positioned her to have a breath and depth of knowledge and first hand understanding for what others might need, her heart is what's led her to this very moment. With a deep love in her heart for Black & Brown womxn whether they be in leadership or not, this book was written for you.
