Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C infections represent a high issue to patients under hemodialysis treatment and to renal transplant graft carrier. They can cause renal failure from glomerulonephritis that can lead to renal transplant.

Marinela Dibra est diplômée de l'université de Tirana depuis 2003. Elle est diplômée en microbiologie au centre hospitalier universitaire "Mother Tereza" de Tirana, en 2008. Elle a obtenu son doctorat en septembre 2016 sur les infections virales chez les receveurs de greffes de rein. Elle se concentre sur la virologie, et principalement sur les patients en hémodialyse et transplantés rénaux.
